CB "Vintage J" in Adirondack "Red" Spruce & Quilted Honduras Mahogany

As the prototype of the Vintage J model, this guitar reflects the simple elegance that was the intent and spirit of the model, evoking the look and feel of the original 1930s round-shouldered dreadnoughts. The only optional "extras" specified by the owner of this guitar were the stunning Quilted Honduras Mahogany used for the back, sides and neck, and the "firestripe" tortoise-grained pickguard of this example.

Top: Select-grade Adirondack (Red) Spruce. Large (4-3/8") soundhole with "single-ring" rosette and "Firestripe" tortoise-grained pickguard.

Top Finish: Vintage-style dark Sunburst.

Top Binding: Single-layer grained ivoroid.

Back & Sides: Select-grade Quilted Honduras Mahogany. No back center strip or end wedge.

Back Binding: Single-layer grained ivoroid.

Neck: Select-grade Quilted Honduras Mahogany with diamond volute, "Rose" inlay on heel cap. Wide (1-3/4") neck with wide (2-1/4") string spacing at bridge.

Peghead: Chris' trademark "Vintage" peghead shape with black overlay & abalone CB logo.

Tuning Machines: Nickel-plated Waverly machines with oval grained ivoroid buttons.

Fretboard: Ebony with no inlays (side position markers only).

Bridge: Rectangular ebony with vintage-style "long" bone saddle and bone bridge pins.
