"Shallow Body" CB Special in Brazilian Rosewood

Chris built this very special instrument for a lady who wanted a more comfortable body, and who also desired more projection. This guitar, Chris' first shallow-body Special, exceeded all expectations. Not only is the shallow body more comfortable for a player of a smaller body size, but the projection and tone is astounding!

Top: Adirondack "Red" spruce, tap-tuned with hand-scalloped braces, Vintage-style pickguard.

Top Finish: Natural.

Top Binding: Grained ivoroid with "Herringbone" purfling.

Back & Sides: Select-grade Brazilian Rosewood.

Back Binding: Multiple grained ivoroid with "Zig-Zag" backstrip.

Neck: Mahogany with diamond volute, "Fleur-de-Lis" inlay on heel cap.

Peghead: Bound with Ebony overlay.

Tuning Machines: Nickel-plated Waverly vintage-style open-back with oval ivoroid buttons.

Fretboard: Ebony with "Fleur-de-Lis" inlay.

Bridge: Ebony with "Fleur-de-Lis" inlay.
