The CB "45"

Chris created the "45" shown here as a donation to benefit St. Matthew's Church in Franklin, TN. The guitar was sold on this web site via an email auction that was completed on August 1st, 2004. The winning bidder was Tom Harrison of Nashville, TN. Not only did Tom purchase an heirloom-quality custom instrument that represents the height of the guitar maker's art, but he (and Chris) greatly helped St. Matthew's in their ministry. Congratulations, Tom!

Top: Lightly stained Sitka Spruce, tap-tuned with hand-scalloped braces.

Top Binding: Multiple grained ivoroid with Abalone purfling around entire body perimeter and fretboard extension. Abalone ornaments at upper body beside 15th fret and at center of lower body.

Back & Sides: AAA-grade Brazilian Rosewood with "Zig-Zag" back strip.

Back Binding: Multiple grained ivoroid with Abalone purfling around entire perimeter of back & sides, neck heel & end pin area. Abalone ornaments at all corners of neck & end pin.

Neck: Mahogany with diamond volute, "Rose" inlay on heel cap.

Peghead: Bound with black overlay & Chris' trademark "Rose" inlay of Abalone & Mother-of-Pearl.

Tuning Machines: Gold-plated Waverly vintage-style open-back tuners with "butterbean" style buttons.

Fretboard: Ebony with Chris' trademark "Rose Vine" inlay.

Bridge: Ebony with Chris' trademark "Rose" inlay.
